Biography

BARCELONA

HARTILL ART ASSOCIATES began in 1977 as the result of winning the World prize contest organised by NESTLE SUISSE for their product NESCAFE!

Alec won a trip to PARIS, via Air France First Class, and 6 nights at the Hotel George Cinq, followed by flying the CONCORDE to RIO de JANEIRO for 10 nights at the Hotel Meridien. Of course he had a partner, Marlene, who had just completed a degree in Teaching after receiving an Honours BA in Fine Arts.

In over 30 years we have travelled to over 15 countries and have provided images to publishers and universities in Australia, Canada, England, New Zealand, South Africa and the U.S.A. Despite robbery & weather hazards we have captured thousands of interesting images that have proven of real interest and value to all our International clientele.

Several of our images have been used by leading International and Canadian publishers down the years.

We have been greatly honoured by the acceptance of the Archive by the

NATIONAL GALLERY OF CANADA

which will benefit many Art Historians and Researchers in the future.

Now, with the development of a new world in the form of Digital Imaging, you may find many of our images on ARTstor, however the TOTAL image Collection lives on in SCHOLARS RESOURCE and can be licensed in perpetuity, which is a great advantage. In addition, you should note that specialised Theme projects on DVDs will continue to be available direct from HAA's home address.

The images seen on this website will often link to comprehensive Sets but are also for sale as individual PRINTS.
